The old Nikkor 35mm f2 AIS manual lens

There are more modern versions of this lens available. The 35f2 AF or AF-D have replaced this lens and offer the added advantage of the autofocus.

On the other hand, this old manual lens is still and excellent performer for landscape for instance, works pretty well on both the DX and FX cameras, is rock solid (like most old manual lenses by the way), the lens is reasonably compact and light. The field of view gives a standard lens on a DX lens and a wide angle on an FX sensor or on a film camera.

The f2 version next to the f1.4 version

The lens is definitely a little bit softer fully open and also exhbits a bit of color aberration but nothing to be much worried about.
